How to Choose a Gemstone Bracelet Wholesale Supplier: 10 Questions to Ask

Ten questions that separate a reliable gemstone bracelet wholesale supplier from a risky one — stone authenticity, MOQ, samples, QC, lead times and private label support, answered plainly.

Most bracelet quality problems are decided before production starts — in the questions a buyer did or did not ask. Whether you are a jewelry brand adding a gemstone line, a boutique testing a new category, or a gift company sourcing finished pieces, these ten questions will tell you quickly whether a supplier can support your business beyond a first order.

1. Are the stones natural, and how are treatments disclosed?

Ask whether each stone is natural, treated, dyed, heated or synthetic — and expect a straight answer per stone type, not a blanket claim. A serious supplier distinguishes, for example, natural amethyst from glass-filled imitations and tells you when a color is enhanced. Vague answers here usually mean vague quality everywhere else.

2. Where are the bracelets actually produced, and what is your relationship to production?

Ask who makes the product and how the supplier is connected to them — the answer explains both price and consistency. JSY Crystal is the exclusive overseas agent of our partner factory: every bracelet is produced by that one factory and supplied factory-direct, with no trading layers in between, and JSY runs all overseas communication, customization and quality requirements because the factory has no export team of its own. Whatever model a supplier uses, the answer should be specific and consistent — a supplier who invents a mine story to please you will invent other things too. Judge the grading and the QC, not the romance.

3. How consistent are bead size and bead count between batches?

Bracelets are sold by bead diameter (for example 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm) and strung to a wrist size, which sets the bead count. Ask what tolerance the supplier works to and whether a replenishment order six months later will match the first batch on your shelf. Batch-to-batch consistency is what turns a one-off purchase into a product line.

4. What is the real minimum order — per style, and can I mix?

MOQs are often quoted per design, per size, or per total order, and the difference matters. Ask whether you can mix stone types and sizes in one shipment. At JSY Crystal, the minimum is 10 pieces per order, freely mixed across styles, stones and sizes — low enough to test broadly before committing to depth, high enough to keep the order genuinely wholesale.

5. How do samples work — cost, timing, and what happens next?

A clear sample policy is a good sign: who pays, how long sampling takes for your design, and whether the fee counts toward a first order. Our policy is simple — samples are charged at cost, the buyer covers shipping, and the sample fee can be deducted from a first order that reaches the qualifying quantity. Whatever the policy, get it in writing before sampling starts.

6. What are the production lead times — and the replenishment cycle?

Ask for bulk lead time separately from shipping time. Our standard bulk production runs 15–30 days depending on quantity and customization, then shipping is added on top. Just as important: ask how reorders are handled. A supplier who plans a stable replenishment cycle with you is worth more than one who is fast once and slow forever after.

7. What does quality control look like, and can I inspect before shipping?

Ask what is checked — bead color and clarity grading, size sorting, stringing tension, count per bracelet — and whether you can arrange pre-shipment inspection or receive inspection photos and video before the balance is paid. We support pre-shipment inspection arrangements for our customers; a supplier who resists any form of verification is telling you something.

8. What customization is actually available?

Cards, gift boxes, pouches, printed inserts, private-label pendants and tags — ask which of these the supplier produces regularly, and ask to see the process, not just a mockup. If private label is part of your plan, read how our private label program works before you compare quotes.

9. How do you ship, and who handles problems?

Worldwide shipping by DHL, FedEx or sea freight covers most B2B needs; what matters is what happens when something arrives wrong. Ask about breakage rates, replacement handling and who pays for reshipment of defective pieces. Get the answer before the first order, not after the first problem.

10. Who answers me, and how fast?

Small suppliers live or die on communication. You should know the name of the person handling your account and the normal response time. At JSY Crystal you deal directly with Apple Cao, and inquiries are answered within 24 hours. Our full process, from inquiry to delivery, is laid out on the How It Works page.

The short version

A good supplier answers all ten questions without hedging, puts the commercial terms in writing, and treats your first small order as the start of a replenishment relationship. If you are comparing suppliers now, send us your list of questions — we are happy to answer them in the same format you send to everyone else, so you can compare fairly.
